Because He Lives

Happy Easter!  The old hymn Because He Lives has been on my mind lately.

Here is the first verse with the chorus:

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;


He came to love, heal and forgive; 


He lived and died to buy my pardon, 


An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!



Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, 


Because He lives, all fear is gone;


Because I know He holds the future, 


And life is worth the living, 


Just because He lives!



Easter celebration should involve less of the commercialization (the dressing up, the food, the Easter eggs, the and bunny) and be more about Jesus.

We should be more concerned about the true and living Savior.  Jesus laid his life down for us in a very real and painful way.  When He rose from the grave, he set mankind on a different path- a path of redemption, forgiveness, and love.  We should never forget what His resurrection means for us.
